A K Whitehead has had a wide range of employments (in engineering, boatbuilding, insurance) prior to returning to full time study and obtaining a B.A. in Economics, M. Phil. by research in Manpower Economics and teaching at Leeds Metropolitan University (in the UK) as a senior lecturer. He also developed as a poet, has had several collections published and over 700 individual poems in journals, magazines, etc in a variety of countries
Following a profound Christian conversion experience he was called called into full-time Christian healing, teaching, counseling and writing ministires in which he has been active for over thirty years. Together with his wife Iris he has ministered both in the UK and USA. Has written several books and many articles on healing, meditation and various aspects of spirituality.
Formal qualifications include: B.A. M.Phil., Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Cambridge University Certificate in Religious Studies.
A K Whitehead's approach in oil painting is traditional, making use of various techniques, including impasto and glazing mainly for landscapes, seascapes, snowscapes, waterscapes and still life. He began painting in the late 1970's but, due to circumstances, had a lengthy lay-off, begining again in 2006
